Amputee Receives Window Air Conditioner!

D. almost died 5 years ago due to infections.  One of his legs had to be amputated to save his life.  Friends used and abused him…people stole from him. Then a S., a caregiver, entered his life and is taking care of him.  She called AVC because D. was suffering from the heat in his wheelchair this season in a small one-room home.  Enter AVC Board Liaison and Volunteer, Jeff, who donated and installed a window air conditioner to bring relief to D.!  A small story that doesn’t make the news, but a BIG life-changing blessing to a caregiver and to D.!

This is one of those stories that won’t make headlines or the evening news, but one that makes a HUGE difference in one life hidden away in the ‘hood.  AVC volunteers are out 365 days a year, responding to Jesus’ command to “love your neighbor as yourself”!
